The cast and creative team of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots celebrate the show’s one year anniversary with a celebratory curtain call and cake. Since opening on Broadway on April 4, 2013, Kinky Boots quickly became Broadway’s newest smash hit and has gone on to win Tony, Grammy, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Awards.

Including: Kinky Boots’ Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Cyndi Lauper, Tony Award-winning book writer Harvey Fierstein, Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, and the cast of Kinky Boots, including Tony Award-winner Billy Porter, Andy Kelso, and Jeanna de Waal.

New York, NY (May 3, 2011) – Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing’s 65th Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards® were announced today by Tony Award winning actor Matthew Broderick and Tony Award winning actress Anika Noni Rose, at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM.  The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 22 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee.  The 2011 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.  (The list of nominations follows.)   Continue reading →

Attorney General says DOMA is unconstitutional


WASHINGTON – The Attorney General sent the following letter today to Congressional leadership to inform them of the Department’s course of action in two lawsuits, Pedersen v. OPM and Windsor v. United States, challenging Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines marriage for federal purposes as only between a man and a woman. A copy of the letter is also attached. On February 17, 2011, Academy Award©, Grammy and 3 time Tony™ Award winner Liza Minnelli joined the cast of Jim Caruso’s Cast Party to pay tribute to another legend: Tony winner Chita Rivera.  The night was filled with glorious performances, special guests (including some “Real Housewives” and lots more.  Below are photos from the event along with Ms. Liza herself singing on stage.

All That Jazz – CHICAGO the Musical Fan Day

“Chicago: The Musical” got technical and made history at the same time on January 30, 2011. For the first time that a Broadway show filled its house entirely with Facebook fans, who are attending the show free of charge.  I was lucky to attend along with some famous faces and familiar Facebook faces!  Below are clips from the show and also photographs from Chicago Fan Day.
